This non-traditional grilled cheese has all the flavors you love. Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze make this sandwich a real standout.
2 thick slices of sourdough bread
3 slices of fresh mozzarella
2 slices of fresh vine-ripened tomatoes
4 -6 fresh basil leaves to taste chopped fine (dried basil also works well)
2 tsp. of Balsamic glaze
Toast both slices of sourdough bread under the broiler in the oven for 2-3 minutes. When toast is done to the desired doneness, remove one from broiler and set aside. Add mozzarella slices and tomatoes to the remaining slice. Put back in the broiler until cheese is melted or approx. 2-3 minutes. Top with chopped basil and balsamic glaze. Add the remaining piece of toasted sourdough on top and enjoy!
